Guelph Independent Living provides home-based supports to frail seniors to help them to maintain their independence in the community and to improve their quality of life.
Supportive Housing provides support services within an integrated, accessible seniors building located in a well established Guelph neighbourhood. Supports are non-medical in nature and include assistance with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, homemaking, medication reminders, etc. Services are pre-scheduled with 24-hour emergency on-call provided. Clients live independently in their own apartments and are responsible for tenancy and living costs, though they may be eligible for a rent subsidy. Applicants must be 55 years of age or older, be medically stable, be able to direct their own services and require daily living assistance or 24-hour emergency support.
Seniors Support Outreach provides weekday support to tenants living in 2 seniors buildings in Guelph. The seniors support worker will assist with homemaking, meal preparation, shopping, medication reminders and will provide companionship. This program does not provide personal care or any professional services.
